The influences of Ooklah The Moc’s distinct Hawaiian Roots soul paired with the smooth and sweet sound of Bitty McLean is near and dear to the heart of the Issentials’ music; clean and precise while giving space for the lovers. Formed in June 2024, Issentials has already made waves in Hawai’i. In August 2025, they were awarded the opening slot at The 808 Day by competing in the PLAY 808 DAY event against nine other competitors from all over the Hawaiian Islands, marking their first outer Island tour. Shortly after the Issentials won the statewide HI93 “Local Break” Battle of the Bands over eleven other acts, earning studio time at LeVanta Studios as well as one-thousand dollars.
